The Little Car Company is back at it again after recently releasing a follow up to the OG Bugatti Baby, this time collaborating with Aston Martin and the iconic James Bond approved DB5. The resulting creation sees a two-thirds scale electric DB5 based on a 3D scan of the original model. The DB5 Junior took 15 months to develop and it could be the perfect Christmas present for any aspiring secret agent.
Measuring in at 3 metres long and 1.1 metres wide, the DB5 Junior is designed to easily accommodate an adult and a child side by side, which is great news for any kids at heart who want to drive it on their own. Total weight of the DB5 Junior is 270kg and is powered by an electric powertrain delivering 5kW to the rear wheels at a top speed of 56 km/h.
The DB5 Junior is very much “Honey I shrunk the Aston” with the intricate details of the real deal shrunken to a kid-friendly size. The iconic Aston Martin and DB5 badges are the same as the original 1963 model as is the dashboard which is fitted with functional Smiths instruments which have been updated for the modern battery-powered era. The same Smiths clock from the original ‘60s car even sits in its spot in front of the passenger seat.
The ride-on is operated with an accelerator and brake pedal and has working headlights, brake lights, indicators and horn. Power is sent through to 10” wire wheels with four-wheel ventilated disc brakes, complemented by regenerative braking to charge the battery. A removable battery pack is stored under the bonnet, giving a driving range of between 16-32km depending on driving style.
True to the DB5’s heritage, the Junior comes in the famous Silver Birch colour with a full black leather interior and carpet set as standard. You will be able to customise the DB5 Juniors with a range of exterior and interior colours, which covers a mix of Aston Martin’s iconic period colours as well as their contemporary palette.
Every DB5 Junior owner will receive automatic membership into the Aston Martin Owners Club as well as The Little Car Club which allows them to take part in exclusive events where they, their children and grandchildren can drive their DB5 Juniors on the most prestigious racetracks.
If you’re keen to get the Lay-by sorted for next year’s Christmas present, orders are now available for delivery over the next two years. Pricing for the DB5 Junior begins at £35,000 ($63,594 AUD) with current Aston Martin DB5 owners given first refusal on their DB5 Junior chassis number to match their full-size car.
