Geely’s Zeekr prestige brand has released the first official images of its all-new 2024 Zeekr 007 that will challenge the Tesla Model 3 and other premium medium-large battery-electric sedans.
Posting images of the Zeekr 007 on its X (Twitter) account ahead of its debut at the Guangzhou motor show on November 17, the Chinese car-maker’s latest model will be available to pre-order this week ahead of first deliveries in its home market late this year.
The Zeekr 007 features smooth styling with a face dominated by a near full-width light bar that integrates the headlights and daytime running lights.
Zeekr has also employed next-generation nano-silvered glass for a full-length panoramic roof on the 007, with the double-glazed panel said to provide excellent thermal insulation while being capable of changing from fully transparent to dark.
At the rear there’s a new clamshell tailgate that provides a wider opening to enhance practicality.
Based on Geely’s SEA (Sustainable Experience Architecture) platform, the new Zeekr 007 measures in at 4865mm long, 1900mm wide and stands 1450mm tall.
That makes it 145mm longer, 50mm wider and 9mm taller than the Tesla Model 3, occupying the middle ground between the Model 3 and larger Model S that’s no longer available in Australia.
The generous 2928mm wheelbase should ensure plenty of cabin space, while optimum double-wishbone suspension at each axle should provide the basis for accomplished ride and handling.
From launch, the cheapest versions of the premium mid-size sedan come powered by a 150kW/350Nm single motor that enables a very respectable 0-100km/h time of just 6.5 seconds.
There’s no word yet on range or battery size, but expect the cheapest versions with the smallest batteries to cover 500km on a single charge.
Thanks to an 800-volt electrical architecture, the Zeekr 007 should only need around 30 minutes for a full charge.

It should also come with advanced driverless technology, aided by three Lidars and powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 8295 software.
Further details are expected at the 007’s official unveiling later this week.
Geely, which owns Volvo and Polestar among various other brands, is hotly tipped to launch the Zeekr brand in Australia, possibly as soon as 2025.
Lynk & Co is also set for a 2025 arrival, which poses an interesting dilemma for the Chinese car-making giant as it could have four brands that use similar electric car tech fighting in the same premium EV market in Australia.
