Pricing for the new Zeekr 7X has been officially revealed at the SUV’s static debut in Sydney today. And in a surprise twist, it undercuts the Tesla Model Y, despite reported dealer leaks suggesting it would launch at a premium.
The all-electric luxury midsize SUV will kick off at $57,900 plus on-roads for the entry-level Rear-Wheel Drive variant. That’s $1000 less than the Model Y (from $58,900) and $3,000 more than the BYD Sealion 7 (from $54,990), another key rival in the growing electric SUV space.
The midsize SUV will bring the Zeekr range to three models, alongside the Zeekr X small SUV and 009 luxury people mover.
The 7X will be offered locally in three variants, starting with the Rear-Wheel Drive ($57,900), mid-spec Long Range Rear-Wheel Drive ($63,900) and topping out with the Performance All-Wheel Drive ($72,900)
The base model uses Zeekr’s 75kWh (LFP) ‘Golden Battery’, while the Long Range and Performance variants feature a larger 100kWh (NCM) pack.
Rear Wheel Drive models have a single e-motor (310kW/440Nm) for a 0-100km/h time of 6.0 seconds.
The Performance AWD variant packs a punch with 475kW and 770Nm, hitting 0-100km/h in a stomach-dropping 3.8 seconds.
In terms of cruising distance, the Long Range model offers up to 615km (WLTP) and the standard variant claims around 480km. Performance models fall between with approximately 543km.
All models are equipped with a 22kW onboard AC charger, allowing home charging from 10-100% between 4.5 to 5.5 hours, depending on the battery size.
The 7X also uses an 800-volt ultra-rapid charging system capable of DC fast charging up to 450kW, meaning drivers can recharge from 10-80% in 13-16 minutes depending on the variant, using a 360kW charger, which is close to class-leading in terms of recharging speeds.
Inside, the 2025 Zeekr 7X features a 16-inch HD touchscreen with Tesla-style features such as pet mode and light shows, plus fun extras like external audio greetings.
The Performance AWD variant adds premium touches like a 21-speaker premium audio system, power-operated opening and closing doors and an optional 36.2-inch augmented reality head-up display.
A five-star Euro NCAP rating is expected to be utilised locally by ANCAP, with some additional right-hand drive testing required, according to Zeekr.
The first 1000 customers who pre-order will get some additional perks, as a thank you from Zeekr, including:
- An extra two years’ vehicle warranty and roadside assistance, bringing it to seven years/unlimited km
- A 7kW home charger
- Type 2 and portable charging cables
- Complimentary exterior and interior colour options (usually an additional $1,500 and $1,000, respectively)
Customer deliveries are set to begin in October 2025, following the model's official launch in September.
Zeekr expects to sell around 2000 units of the 7X SUV in 2025 and the brand is sticking to its ambitious target of 10,000 sales in 2026, supported by an expanded dealer network, which will grow from 11 locations today to a planned 25 locations by year’s end.
With pricing and specifications positioned competitively, the upcoming launch test drive will reveal how well the Zeekr 7X performs in the fast-growing EV SUV segment.
