Overview
Audi has a history of pushing the technological envelope with its largely alloy-bodied A8. The latest version does much the same, while offering more length and width to upgrade passenger comfort and further challenge Mercedes-Benz S-Class and BMW 7 Series. New (optional) technology includes handwriting recognition, LED headlights and thermal optics for the night-vision system. The petrol 4.2-litre V8 engine develops 273kW/445Nm and drives through Audi?s eight-speed Tiptronic auto transmission. It claims an impressive fuel consumption average of 9.5L/100km.
