The R8 brings a big dose of the exotic to Audi's model lineup, providing an instant challenger to Porsche and numerous Italian marques. Strongly linked to the Lamborghini Gallardo supercar, the mid-engined R8 mixes stratospheric performance with Audi finesse and driver-friendly ergonomics ? for a price. The 309kW/430Nm 4.2-litre V8 drives all four wheels through either a six-speed manual or six-speed R tronic auto transmission and enables the R8 to accelerate from zero to 100km/h in 4.6 seconds. Despite the performance, there's luxury aplenty, with leather trim, climate control, satellite navigation and seven-speaker audio standard.
