With the punchy, efficient twin turbo 4.0-litre V8 and dual clutch auto, the S6 and S7 share much in common - the Quattro drive-train and interior appointments - notably the Recaro seats and HUD. The four-door S6 may be narrower and taller, but it's roomier in the rear than the five-door hatch. They're big cars, weighing in at around 2000kg and approaching 5-metres in length, yet present themselves in a subtle, sophisticated manner, almost belying what they're capable of.
