I15 Roadster 2dr Auto 6sp AWD 1.5T/105kW Hybrid BMW's plug-in hybrid i8 supercar invites superlatives. It not only looks spectacular: It also promises spectacular performance and fuel economy. Zero to 100km/h takes 4.4sec, fuel economy is 2.2L/100km. And now the carbon-fibre core structured, petrol-electric wunderkind is available not just as a scissor-doored coupe, but also as a soft-top roadster that loses the rear seats but retains the essential i8 essence. Although loses a bit of performance and fuel economy, it gains access to the open air in just 15sec. Both i8s benefit from improvements including an extra 9kW (to 275kW) and increased battery capacity giving a real-world range of 40km.
