Minimalism isn't expressed much more eloquently than this. Britain's bare-bones Caterham sports cars are a direct throwback to 1960s club racers where power-weight ratios are achieved by taking as much out as possible, then squeezing in a small, manic four-cylinder engine to produce a most exhilarating experience. The Caterham SVR175 model sits upmarket of the SVR120 and comes with a hand-built 1.6-litre Cosworth four-cylinder engine developing 130kW (175bhp) to provide more punch than the 1.6-litre SVR120.It uses a semi-independent de Dion rear suspension and offers the option of a six-speed manual gearbox. Stability control? Climate control? As if.
