Overview
Ford brought the mid-sized, front-drive Mondeo back to Australia in October 2007 and it was a welcome return with its Euro looks, specification and on-road dynamics. An update in July 2009 added a wagon to the local range, along with a revision of equipment levels and the addition of new features bringing a leather trimmed steering wheel, cruise control and Bluetooth connectivity across the range. The hotshot manual six-speed only XR5 Turbo hatch version uses Volvo's 2.5-litre five-cylinder producing 162kW/320Nm. Standard equipment includes bi-Xenon headlights, sunroof, keyless entry, cloth/leather trim and new five-spoke 18-inch alloys.
