Giving the Commodore, Falcon and Camry a run for their money is what the now larger eighth-generation Accord is all about. It's the first iteration that can genuinely back up the claim. It's centered around dynamics, spaciousness and the excellent economy for the 3.5-litre six. Typical Honda attention to appointment and detail, with clever pricing, set it up as a compelling alternative. Safety has been ramped up with a new body structure that is not only more rigid and safe for passengers, but also pedestrians. This could be its last appearance locally though, as Honda may discontinue it in a rationalised range line-up.
