Overview
Jeep's Wrangler defines the American off-road brand more than any other model in the range with its WWII-inspired Jeep demeanour, soft-top roof and basic, workhorse 4WD mechanicals. Ladder-frame chassis, a two-speed transfer case and live axles front and rear clearly state the Wrangler's intentions. The 3.8-litre V6 in the petrol-only Rubicon version produces 146kW/315Nm, driving through a six-speed manual or a four-speed auto. The more off-road focussed Rubicon brings more sophisticated Rock-Trac 4WD, heavy-duty front axle and hard and soft-top roofs as well as all the gear in the Sport versions.
