Overview
Introduced in 2007, the Thai-built Mazda2 reflects Mazda's current ultra-wedge styling trend. The Maxx sits in the middle of the model range and adds 15-inch alloy wheels, a full six airbags and six CD sound system. The hatchback also gets a rear spoiler. All Mazda2s are powered by a 1.5-litre four cylinder MZR petrol engine which develops 76kW/135Nm. Gearboxes are a five-speed manual or four-speed auto. These return 6.4 L/100km and 6.8L/100km respectively. Safety features include stability and traction control. Recent models have also been graced with upgraded suspension for improved ride quality.
