ND RF 2dr SKYACTIV-Drive 6sp 2.0i Mazda has shown remarkable restraint sticking with the fundamentals that formed the original MX-5 back in 1989. The now-iconic two-seat sports soft-top (and RF folding hardtop) could have gone in any direction over the years, but the company appreciated the value of the minimalist formula. The result is that the recently-upgraded MX-5 is as unmistakable and engaging as ever. Just a bit better in every way. Tweaking the engine to produce a bit more power (135kW/205Nm for the 2.0-litre and 97kW/152Nm for the 1.5-litre), fine-tuning the suspension and employing autonomous emergency braking across the board has earned it the title of "best MX-5 ever."
