ND RF 2dr SKYACTIV-Drive 6sp 2.0i Mazda has shown remarkable restraint sticking with the fundamentals that formed the original MX-5 back in 1989. The now-iconic two-seat sports soft-top (and RF folding hardtop) sticks to the traditional minimalist formula, to good effect. The MX-5 is as unmistakable and engaging as ever. There are two engines: The 97kW/152Nm 1.5-litre and the 135kW/205Nm 2.0-litre, both offering the choice of six-speed manual or auto transmissions, while the limited-slip differential and finely tuned suspension ensure a scintillating behind-the-wheel experience. Autonomous emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert and traffic sign recognition help keep the MX-5 up to speed in safety technology.
