Overview
For a 'half-mill' outlay there's every right to expect the exclusivity the SLS conveys. From the alloy chassis and body (a first for MB, although there is a small percentage of steel), the "Gull-Wing" doors, through the 'authenticated build' engine plaque, to the automatically extending rear aerofoil, it's certainly unique. The (Euro 5) 6.3-litre V8 develops 420kW/650Nm at 6800rpm for a power to weight ratio of 3.86kg/kW, delivering a 0-100km/h time of 3.8 seconds. Fuel consumption is quoted at 13.3L/100km and emissions at 311g/km. Safety features include eight airbags and three stage ESP.
