Pros
- Has seven seats – a rarity in the mid-size SUV segment
- Even though there are a couple of omissions, the safety equipment specification is generous
- The driving experience is a significant improvement over the old model
Cons
- The third row is very much kids-only and isn’t protected by curtain airbags
- Ride is a bit knobbly, although less pronounced in the LS than more expensive models
- The engine battles to assert itself when the Outlander is loaded or has hills to contend with
