The Aurion re-doubles its offence on the local big car market - traditionally a domain of Ford and Holden - with the locally built second iteration. Build quality, interior quietness and ambiance are its major achievements, along with pricing aimed to undercut its rivals' comparable models. The five variants share the same engine/transmission layout, with changes to suspension, bodywork and interior appointments according to nomenclature. Based on the Camry it displays Lexus traits, with unquestioned Toyota quality and durability. The biggest hurdle though is changing a mind-set more than sixty years in the making.
