With its tweaked 3.2i six-cylinder petrol now producing 179kW/320Nm and returning 10.5L/100km through the 'Haldex Instant Traction' AWD system, Volvo's XC60 SUV competes against models in Audi's Q5, BMW's X3 and Land Rover's Freelander 2 range. The wagon runs Xenon headlights, sport mode on the six-speed auto, hill descent control and light oak trim. Volvo claims it's Australia's safest car, based on the range wide low speed crash avoidance system. This actually translates into lower premiums with certain insurers. Volvo's legendary approach to safety has been enhanced with improvements to the side impact systems and optional adaptive cruise control.
