Australian-delivered April 1987 Porsche 928 S4, finished in the unique Cassis Red Metallic with black leather interior.
269,301 km. Automatic transmission. Original engine and drivetrain and original Porsche alloy wheels. Please note the registration is Historical plates and therefore not transferrable.
I have owned the car since 2014 and have extensive documentation including service history dating back to the original owner, an inspection undertaken by Porsche Centre Parramatta during my ownership, and detailed records of maintenance and repairs.
The car has covered very few kilometres (around 10,000)during my ownership and has been maintained and progressively recommissioned rather than fully restored.
Significant work during my ownership has included a complete transmission rebuild, replacement of the timing belt, front brake rotors and pads, replacement front calipers, rear pads, brake-fluid service, cooling-system work, fuel-system work, ignition/service items, tyres and wheel alignment, ride-height correction, spark plugs and leads, electrical repairs and dashboard restoration, amongst numerous other items.
The 5.0-litre V8 starts and runs well and the car drives well. It remains substantially original and presents as an honest, usable example rather than a concours restoration.
There is further restoration work available for the next owner. The black leather seats require refurbishment/retrim or replacement, carpets require attention, the air conditioning is currently not operational, the vacuum/HVAC system requires work and there are a number of age-related electrical issues. The Cassis paint presents well overall for its age but has chips, particularly in the rear panels, and previous repairs and areas that would benefit from cosmetic attention.
The vehicle has great bones - the engine, chassis and major mechanical components are in good order, but it needs a lot of attention with regards to body work, internal fittings, and electrcal & vacuum componentry, and it's really a matter of how far the next owner—or myself if I retain it—decides to take it.
This is a genuine Australian-delivered S4 with original drivetrain, original wheels and unusually comprehensive history. The mileage is fully disclosed and supported by the historical documentation.
I am continuing a rolling recommissioning/restoration while the car is advertised, so further work may be completed during the sale period.
