2004 Ford Explorer, 7 seat, XLT, V8, Auto. Fitted with 4.6L Ford modular V8 which was found in a variety of makes and models across the Ford line including the F150, Crown Victoria, Mustang etc.
Great, reliable daily. Has approximately 280,000 km on the clock so she’s just broken in! Perfect for somebody looking for a family SUV that has that authentic muscle car sound with 4WD capabilities.
I recently replaced fluids, serviced transmission and replaced brake pads and front discs. All lights on the front have been changed over to LEDs and alloy bar has been raptor coated. Has an exhaust that was fitted prior to my ownership that makes it sound tough. Video in listing.
I have also fitted a K&N cold air intake and a set of genuine KMC 17 inch off-road wheels with new Maxxis all-terrain tyres.
Paint and body is reflective of age. You could respray, but I think it adds to the character.
Overall a good reliable SUV that ticks a lot of boxes for the car enthusiast/off-roader family.
