This is an amazing European V8 convertible. It’s the best of many vehicle features all rolled into one. With just 63,000 klms, it is a very low klm car that is in fantastic condition, with a very robust service history. Services have been performed at Mercedes dealers or European car specialists.
2010 is the last year of the 5.5 litre V8. Sure you can still get Mercedes with V8’s, but nothing beats the authority of a big block V8, especially when it propels the car from 0 to 100 in 5.3 seconds. The engine note is superb, it’s clearly a V8 but has an element of sophistication that you’d expect from a European luxury car.
The condition of the car is immaculate. I’m the third owner and across all three owners, there has been no expense spared in maintaining the car and it has clearly been kept in a garage it’s whole life.
The car is lots of fun all year round. The three layer soft top is fantastic quality and fits like a glove, to the point where there is virtually no difference between this convertible and the corresponding E500 coupe when the top is up. In cold conditions it’s great too due to heated seats, Air Scarfs and the Air Curtain. Air Scarfs push hot air around the driver’s and passenger’s necks and shoulders and the Air Curtain is created by an electrically operated wing at the top of the windscreen and a wind deflector behind the rear seats. The effectiveness is amazing as there is such little wind inside the car when the top is down. These features are unique to high end Mercedes cars.
The car has the AMG pack. This includes 15mm lower suspension that has comfort and sports modes so handles like a sports car but is a very comfortable luxury car when you want also. The AMG pack also include the sports body kit, aluminium peddles, Tiptronic paddles, AMG mats and sports seats. The interior is also a custom order that features a fantastic colour combination. Not too much black and not too much beige.
The car doesn’t have Apple Carplay, but the Bluetooth setup is very capable, easy to use and intuitive. The Harmon Kardon sound system is spectacular. It really is like being in a concert hall, even when the top is down. It’s like having Pavarotti and Kalvin Harris in the car with you.
As you can see in the pictures, the 19 inch JSR wheels look fantastic. Stylish but still a little bit aggressive. These wheels have only been fitted recently, so the Bridgestone Potenzas would have no more then 100klms on them. The original 18 inch wheels are also included in the sale and the Bridgestone Potenza tyres on those wheels would still have around 80% left. The car also has a relatively new battery.
The E500 must be the best value in the Mercedes range, as other V8 Mercedes convertibles are around double this price and remember the E500 was the TOP OF THE RANGE for E class cars at the time and offers all the features expected of high end Mercedes.
In summary, and amazing European convertible, in fantastic condition, very well looked after, at a great price.

Overview
The E-Class Benz cabriolet is about as pampering as a four-seat convertible gets. Stemming from the new E-Class sedan but using a shorter wheelbase, the soft-top seats four in style and comfort while offering similar ride quality and handling to the hardtop E-Class models. The E500's 5.5-litre V8 produces a stirring 285kW/530Nm and drives through a seven-speed auto transmission. Top down, the E-Class offers a reasonably generous 300-litre boot that opens to 390 litres with the roof in place. Safety gear includes seven airbags, pop-up rollover bars behind the rear seats, plus all the usual Benz dynamic safety aids.
