Phew! The Volt finally makes it to Australia. This should give the hybrid vehicle market a major shake up, especially with its 1.2L/100km rating. Gone are the worries about reaching your destination " all cleverly taken care of by an in-built petrol generator giving a range of at least 600km. What's more, when you reach that destination you can either plug it into a 240-Volt outlet or fill up with unleaded. Speaking of which, GM has figures showing that of 191 Million kms clocked up in the US, around 62 percent were done on the electric motor alone. Go Volt!
