The latest F30 3 Series had to be good - and it is, what with its ability to combine greater space, safety and mostly lower prices with lower fuel consumption and exhaust emissions. BMW's delightful six-cylinder engines are largely replaced by a new generation of turbo fours that prove to be more efficient, more powerful and surprisingly refined.
