NCP130R Ascent Hatchback 5dr Auto 4sp 1.3i Toyota's entry model, the light-class Yaris five-door hatch, makes a statement that's intended to appeal to the young, first-time new car buyer. The front end in particular is anything but apologetic, while the rest of the styling is appropriately attention-getting. The Yaris drives its front wheels though either a five-speed manual, or a four-speed automatic gearbox and engines include a 63kW/120Nm 1.3-litre four-cylinder in the base Ascent, while SX and ZR variants employ an 80kW/141Nm 1.5-litre. In a surprisingly roomy interior, both SX and ZR come with sat-nav, while the high-spec ZR brings autonomous emergency braking, lane-departure warning and auto-dipping LED headlights.
