Overview
PD.V4 MY21 Active Hatchback 5dr Spts Auto 6sp 2.0i Hyundai's replacement of the Elantra with the i30 sedan could begin unsettling small-car sales statistics. The new Hyundai joins Toyota's Corolla, Mazda's Mazda3 and Honda's Civic by offering, for the first-time, a sedan alternative to its i30 hatch. Sitting on a newer platform than its five-door stablemate, it's marginally bigger inside and has a respectable 474-litre boot. Although it uses the same 2.0-litre and turbo 1.6-litre engines as the hatch, the sedan's claimed lower weight helps performance and fuel economy. The i30 sedan range starts a bit higher up the scale than Elantra but comes with high and low-speed autonomous emergency braking, pedestrian avoidance, lane-departure warning and lane-keep assist.
