The Jaecoo J5 EV has arrived as one of the most accessible fully electric SUVs in Australia, and it doesn't feel like a budget entry point.
A front-mounted electric motor producing 155kW and 288Nm is paired with a 58.9kWh lithium-iron-phosphate battery, delivering a claimed WLTP driving range of up to 402km and a 0-100km/h time of 7.7 seconds.
DC fast charging via the CCS2 port tops out at 130kW, meaning a 30 to 80 per cent top-up takes just 28 minutes, while the Type 2 AC port covers everyday charging at up to 6.6kW single-phase or 10.3kW three-phase. Three levels of regenerative braking let you fine-tune how the car slows itself, and vehicle-to-load capability means the J5 EV can power camping gear, tools, or devices directly from the car itself.
Summit grade brings a genuinely premium specification. Inside, TV SD-certified synthetic leather upholstery is scratch resistant, antibacterial, and easy to clean, making the cabin as practical for families and pets as it is comfortable. You also get heated and ventilated front seats with power adjustment, dual-zone climate control, ambient interior lighting, an eight-speaker sound system, wireless phone charging, and a 13.2-inch infotainment touchscreen paired with an 8.88-inch driver display, all with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
