I have owned the Megane for over eight years now and I am the second owner. The car was purchased with around 20K on the clock from somebody who only used it at weekends and kept it garaged all the time. The car has now covered just over 100K.
The car has always been parked under cover during the period I have owned it.
I am fortunate enough to have a generous car allowance with my job, so the car has been impeccably maintained by Marty at Alpine Affaire all these years – whatever the cost.
During the past 12 months, the car has had the timing belt and water pump replaced, a full suspension rebuild (bearings, ball joints and bushes), and a geometry setup by Tyres & More in Rowville. All gearbox bearings and seals have also been replaced with genuine parts, along with a new genuine clutch and clutch release bearing. It has also had a clutch damper delete.
Marty at Alpine Affaire mentioned that he is seeing more Meganes with noisy gearbox bearings as the cars are getting older. You won't need to worry about that one!
Prior to that, I have a large pile of invoices for all the parts and servicing over the years.
I would describe the car's condition as very good. I have seen some examples where the front Recaros are in a really sorry state – not mine!
The only modification is a Milltek exhaust system, which I imported from the UK.
The car will come with a roadworthy certificate and rego – it's in Victoria.
Currently, the registration plate is 'REDBL' – this is up for negotiation. Otherwise, the car will come with a standard plate.
Any inspection is welcome and encouraged.
