Lexus is planning a mid-life upgrade for its range-topping LS series limousines, images and information of which have been leaked.
The Japanese brochure of the new 2010 model LS series has made its way into cyberspace and reveals a mild facelift for the vehicle, comprising new front and rear fascias and foglight integration, updated headlight and brakelight designs, integrated side indicators and new alloy wheel designs.
Lexus' technology flagship, the long wheelbase LS 600hL, will benefit from a number of additions in 2010, including a new Mercedes-Benz rivalling night-vision system and will also be slightly more aerodynamic than other models, thanks to additions such as a mild rear diffuser. The petrol-electric hybrid system is also expected to be updated.
New interior designs will typify the new 2010 model LS series and minor changes to powertrains are also possible.
In addition to the LS 600hL and LS 460, Japanese customers will be offered the LS "Version SZ" which is a up-spec performance model distinguished by sporty alloy wheels, bolder exhausts and other minor design cues.
Precious little is known about this sporty model save that it will feature an automatic transmission with paddle shifters. The engine tune is as yet unknown but the "Version SZ" could be a precursor to an upcoming LS-F high performance model.
