2011 Audi A8 revealed

At a glamourous ceremony in Miami earlier today, the 2011 model Audi A8 was finally unveiled

It's a work of art according to its designers, a vehicle that blends practicality with passion. It is the new 2011 Audi A8.

Lighter than its predecessor and with features such as a compact touch-screen that responds to handwriting commands, the new Audi A8 is to be a technology flagship for the prosperous German marque.

After watching the new luxury limousine's launch live from Miami via webcast at TV.Audi.com -- for a mind-numbing 53 minutes of actual airtime and not counting the hour of 'baroque' video stylings before that -- two things are evident. Firstly, Lucy Liu's autocue skills need work and the new A8 design is very conservative, sticking firmly to Audi's family DNA. By and large, it's a very safe design.

Appearing almost like a larger, sleeker version of the A4 -- with touches of the R8's front fascia thrown in for good measure -- the new model features front and rear end designs festooned with high-tech LED light designs, while the steeply raked front and rear windscreens give it an athletic stance.

We've attached a few screen grabs from the video feed, so excuse the quality, but stay tuned to the Carsales Network for the full tech specs and details on the 2011 Audi A8.
