Citroen has seemingly sought to tone down its quirky C4 Cactus crossover by announcing a new ‘OneTone’ special-edition for 2017.
Designed “for customers looking for the character of the C4 Cactus, with its flowing lines and generous forms, but with fewer visual contrasts”, the special-edition adopts matching tones across its outside treatments, including “sober” matching white or black colour schemes across the ‘airbump’ body cladding and wheels designs.
The special-edition goes some way in making the quirky but largely well-received C4 Cactus more appealing to customers.
The new special-edition accompanies a major mechanical change across the C4 Cactus range: a new gearbox. The so-called EAT6 six-speed automatic features a new-generation converter offering smoother, faster changes and better driveability. The gearbox adopts ‘Sport’ and ‘Snow’ programs for tailored responses.
Elsewhere, Citroen has discontinued the diesel-powered C4 Cactus from the range, along with its semi-automatic transmission.
The 2017 Citroen C4 Cactus range is available now.
