2018 MINI Clubman in detail

New safety equipment and more technology head changes for 2018

MINI Australia has released price and specification details for the 2018 Clubman range.

On sale from this month, the Clubman is priced from $36,900 plus on-road costs for the entry-level Cooper variant, $44,900 plus on-road costs for the Cooper S Clubman and $54,900 plus on-road costs for the flagship John Cooper Works Clubman.

Major equipment changes for 2018 include the fitment of MINI’s connected interface system, bringing smartphone compatibility, real-time traffic information, calendar appointments and useful driving data.

The entry-level Cooper Clubman is now fitted with MINI’s navigation system business suite, and an enhanced driver assistance package comprising automated emergency braking, forward collision warning, city collision mitigation, high beam assist and speed sign recognition.

The car’s interior features sports seats resplendent in leather and cloth, while the exterior adopts new 17-inch alloy wheels.

Under the bonnet, the entry model gets a 1.5-litre turbo three offering 100kW and 220Nm – corresponding with a 9.1 second 0-100km/h claim and a fuel use figure of 5.4L/100km.

Further up the range, the Cooper S Clubman scores 18-inch alloy wheels, LED headlights, active cruise control and park assist with front parking sensors. MINI driving modes, a performance control function, comfort access and a sports leather steering are met with an eight-speed automatic transmission with gearshift paddles under the skin.

The S model’s 2.0-litre turbo four-cylinder develops 141kW/280Nm, good enough for a 7.1 second sprint to triple figures, and a claimed 5.9L/100km fuel use figure.

The flagship, all-wheel drive John Cooper Works Clubman now boasts 19-inch wheels, full leather upholstery, JCW aero package, eight speed sports automatic transmission (or six-speed manual as a no-cost option), JCW sports suspension and an upgraded stereo and infotainment system including head-up display functionality.

The cosmetic changes are accompanied by a 2.0-litre turbo four offering 170kW and 350Nm, a 6.3 second 0-100km/h claim and a fuel use figure of 7.2L/100km.

As before, MINI has also announced a slew of optional packages available as part of the 2018 updates.

2018 MINI Clubman pricing (plus ORCs):
Cooper -- $36,900
Cooper S -- $44,900
Cooper JCW -- $54,900
