The Skoda Citigo e iV has been revealed at a VIP event in Slovakia that will be on sale in Europe in early 2020.
Based on the current Skoda Citigo city car that never came to Australia, externally, the Citigo e iV's changes over its petrol sipping sibling are subtle.
There's a body-coloured blanked-off grille, a reprofiled front bumper, a charging socket in place of the fuel filler and a set of more aerodynamic alloy wheels.

Inside, the Citigo e iV gets a new instrument panel and a docking station for your phone, that helps it act as an infotainment system.
Powering the Citigo e iV and providing it with a range of around 266km is an all-new 36.8kWh battery, while driving the front wheels is a 60kW electric motor that makes up for its lack of power by providing a punchy 210Nm of torque.
That means in town the small zero-emission hatchback is surprisingly quick, taking just 7.6 seconds to hit 100km/h, although its top speed is limited to 130km/h.

Topping up the Citigo e iV battery from flat to 80 per cent is said to take an hour using a 40kW fast charger, although a 7.2kWh wall box sees that time quadruple.
In Europe just two trims are offered – Ambition and Style, with the latter adding 16-inch wheels, black accents and a silver dash.
With a lack of pure-electric infrastructure, the Citigo e iV is highly unlikely to ever make it Down Under but Skoda's first all-new electric car based on the VW Group's MEB platform stands more of a chance of making it here when it goes on sale in 2020.
