Hyundai Australia has bolstered its SUV ranks in Australia with the addition of the Santa Fe Active X to the range.
A new middling variant within Hyundai's large seven-seat SUV range, the Santa Fe Active X confirmed today is priced from $47,020 (plus on-road costs) - a $3030 premium on the existing Active entry grade.
The newcomer arrives as Hyundai prepares to introduce a facelifted Santa Fe to the Australian market in the fourth quarter of 2020. The updated fourth-generation Santa Fe was revealed last month and is set to introduce hybridised drivetrain options into the Australian market.
For now, the Active X adds more standard equipment and styling tweaks to bridge the gap between existing Active and Elite grades.
As with those Santa Fe models, the Active X is powered by a choice a front-driven 3.5-litre petrol V6 or an all-wheel drive 2.2-litre turbo-diesel four-cylinder that imposes a circa-$3000 pricing premium (from $50,050 plus on-road costs).
Over and above the existing Active, the Active X brings 18-inch alloy wheels, front parking sensors, a leather-appointed interior, keyless entry and start, dual-zone climate control, cooled glove box, rain-sensing wipers, tinted windows, puddle lamps integrated into the wing mirrors and satin chrome door handles.
As with other Santa Fe grades, the new middling variant adopts Hyundai's SmartSense safety suite, bringing Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist (AEB), Blind-Spot Collision Avoidance Assist, Driver Attention Warning, High Beam Assist, Lane Keeping Assist, Rear Cross-Traffic Collision-Avoidance Assist, Rear Occupant Alert and Smart Cruise Control with Stop & Go.
The 2021 Hyundai Santa Fe Active X is backed by Hyundai's five-year/unlimited kilometre factory warranty and is offered with a Lifetime Service plan.
