Prices have increased across the Toyota Camry range for 2020.
Now made in Japan, the evergreen front-drive mid-size sedan will rise $500 in price as a result of fluctuations in Australia’s weakening dollar.
"From time to time, Toyota adjusts the pricing of vehicles according to business conditions. This is influenced by a variety of economic and business factors," a spokesman told carsales.
As a result, entry into the Camry range now starts at $28,290 plus on-road costs for the Ascent, with modest pricing increases also adopted for the Ascent Sport ($30,590), SX ($33,890) and SL ($40,590).
Visually, the 2020 Camry is identical to the car it replaces.
Likewise, all grades employ the same 2.5-litre four-cylinder naturally-aspirated petrol engine with 135kW and 235Nm, save for the Ascent's slightly less powerful 133kW/231Nm tune.
Hybrid variants utilise the same petrol four-cylinder paired with an electric motor, boosting outputs to 160kW and 270Nm respectively and sending drive via a CVT. The Camry Hybrid line-up comprises the Ascent ($30,590), Ascent Sport ($32,590) and SL ($41,490).
As before, the 2020 Toyota Camry line-up is topped by two 224kW/362Nm 3.5-litre V6 grades, the SX ($37,890) and the SL ($44,590).
The 2020 Toyota Camry line-up will incorporate a 7.0-inch infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto as standard, on top of carryover 2019 specifications.
The latter includes 17-inch alloy wheels, LED headlights and tail-lights, cloth seats, six-speaker stereo and a 4.2-inch digital driver's display, which separates two traditional analogue gauges.
The Camry’s standard safety suite comprises seven airbags, autonomous emergency braking, lane departure warning, adaptive cruise control, automatic headlights and a reversing camera.
Further up the food chain, Ascent Sport grades and above employ a larger 8.0-inch unit with sat-nav, a sports body kit, dual-zone climate control, keyless entry/start and front/rear parking sensors.
SX variants add larger 19-inch wheels, sports seats, a wireless phone charger and steering wheel-mounted paddle shifters. The sportier brief is also denoted externally a different front grille and a bootlid spoiler.
Meanwhile, SL grades are distinguished by leather-accented seats, head-up display screen, heated and cooled seating, blind-spot monitoring and rear-cross traffic alert.
