The curtains are closing on the Audi TT, but the iconic German sports car will indeed get a special send-off in Australia in the form of a value-packed special-edition.
Available now in strictly limited numbers, the 2023 Audi TT Final Edition is priced at $88,479 plus on-road costs – $4479 more than the TT 45 TFSI quattro on which it’s based.
Alongside the price premium, however, Audi says the swansong TT is loaded with more than $14,000 worth of extra gear, including the S line Competition Plus exterior package and black 19-inch Audi Sport wheels, mirrors, badging, exhaust outlets and side trims, plus red brake callipers and special exterior decals.
The interior is just as special, featuring an Alcantara and leather trimmed D-shape steering wheel, Nappa leather-clad S seats with electric side bolsters, unique contrast stitching for the armrests, door-handles and centre console, ambient lighting and brushed aluminium inlays.
Other equipment highlights include a digital instrument cluster, Audi MMI navigation system, Audi smartphone interface, Audi phone box light, wireless smartphone charging, Audi music interface, an eight-speaker sound system and DAB+ digital radio.
Hiding under the bonnet is a carryover version of the standard TT 45 TFSI quattro’s 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbo-petrol engine outputting 180kW/370Nm.
The force-fed donk drives all four wheels via a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission and quattro all-wheel drive system as standard – a combination that yields a claimed 0-100km/h acceleration time of 5.1 seconds.
Audi Australia director Jeff Mannering said the TT was an “instantly recognisable” modern classic that has spanned three generations and earned a reputation as an iconic sports car both in terms of design and driving experience.
“Boasting all of the elements that have endeared the TT to a legion of customers over its 25 year production, the TT Final Edition is a fitting way to farewell this automotive icon,” he said.
“It has all of the style of the original at its core, coupled with impressive performance and a high level of specification as befits this limited-edition release.”
Available alongside the standard Audi TT 45 TSFI quattro, S quattro and RS quattro variants – for now – the special-edition is available in four colourways (Turbo Blue, Glacier White metallic, Chronos Grey metallic and Tango Red metallic) and covered by Audi’s five-year/unlimited-kilometre warranty.
