2023 Lamborghini Aventador replacement just weeks away

Naturally-aspirated V12 confirmed for new Lamborghini flagship coupe ahead of unveiling soon

Lamborghini has confirmed its all-new replacement for the current Lamborghini Aventador will be unleashed in the first quarter of this year.

As well as nailing down when we’ll see the new flagship model, the Audi-owned Italian supercar marque confirmed the 2023 Lamborghini Aventador replacement would be powered by a naturally-aspirated V12, before it switches to electrified powertrains.

Earlier this week the next-gen V12 Lambo was leaked via design patents that revealed a sleeker, angrier look that will draw inspiration from the Lamborghini Sian and Huracan Technica.

Set to pack an active rear spoiler and rear styling dominated by a huge diffuser, there’s also dramatic slatted side intakes and Y-shaped tail-lights.

Up front the wedgy nose carries over, with the unnamed Aventador successor gaining triangular lamps and larger Y-shaped daytime running lights.

New L-shaped aero blades flanking either side of a front opening hint at yet more complex air bending that’s likely to be joined by further underbody active blades.

There’s still no word about the reworked V12 that’s set to power it, but expect even more power and torque than the outgoing Lamborghini Aventador Ultimae that pumped out 574kW and 720Nm.

That means a sub-3.0sec 0-100km/h dash is almost guaranteed, while top speed will exceed 350km/h.

It’s not yet known if the V12 will be all-new, but it’s unlikely.

Since 1963 when it first introduced the flagship engine to its range, Lamborghini has had just two V12s in its history, with the latest version introduced back in 2011 with the launch of the current Aventador.
