2024 Chery Tiggo 8 Pro Max local details confirmed
Chinese brand’s new seven-seat family SUV will come loaded with features, but pricing not yet locked inChery Australia has released model range details for the incoming 2024 Tiggo 8 Pro Max, but has stopped short of confirming prices for the all-new seven-seat family SUV ahead of its local arrival in April.
Lining up against established three-row family SUVs like the Kia Sorento and Toyota Kluger, the Chery Tiggo 8 Pro Max will be offered here in three model grades – Urban, Elite and Ultimate.
All models are powered by a 180kW/375Nm 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbo-petrol engine that pairs with a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission, but whereas the Urban and Elite are two-wheel drive, the top-spec Ultimate comes with AWD as standard.
Front-wheel drive versions return combined-cycle fuel consumption of 8.1L/100km, according to Chery.
The entry-level Tiggo 8 Pro Max Urban is equipped with 18-inch alloy wheels, heated and ventilated front seats, synthetic leather upholstery, a 12.3-inch infotainment system and matching 12.3-inch virtual cockpit, sat-nav, an air quality management system, three drive modes, ‘Hello Chery’ voice command, an eight-speaker sound system, wireless phone charging, 360-degree camera, ambient interior lighting and LED exterior lighting.
The mid-range Elite builds on this with a power tailgate, heated wing mirrors, built-in dashcam, third-row air vents with fan speed control, illuminated ‘Tiggo’ door sills and a retractable cargo blind.
As well as all-wheel drive, the flagship Ultimate adds 19-inch alloys, a cabin fragrance system, puddle lamps, a panoramic sunroof, 10-speaker sound system and privacy glass.
Maximum braked towing capacity is rated at just 1300kg, however the seven-year/unlimited-kilometre warranty, seven years’ roadside assistance and seven-year capped-price servicing scheme are among the best in class.
There’s a lot riding on the new Tiggo 8 Pro as Chery works on a strategy to become one of the top-five best-selling brands in Australia.
