2024 Ford Ranger Black Edition to add more value

Fresh from being named our Best Dual-Cab 4x4 Ute for 2024, the Ford Ranger line-up will soon be joined by yet another limited-edition twin-cab pick-up variant, this time aimed directly at the tarted-up work-spec Isuzu D-MAX X-Rider.

Based on the XL Double Cab Bi-Turbo 4x4 pick-up version of Australia’s top-selling new vehicle, the 2024 Ford Ranger Black Edition is priced from $57,990 drive-away.

The Black Edition’s drive-away price means it undercuts the XL Double Cab Bi-Turbo 4x4 pick-up by more than $4200 in some states once they’re both on the road, but it also comes standard with several thousand dollars’ worth of genuine accessories.

Distinguishing the newcomer from its donor model is a set of black sports bars, a drop-in bedliner with 12V socket and in-built cargo management system, black 17-inch alloy wheels with all-terrain tyres, black side steps and a black grille with grey inserts.

No changes have been made to any of the twin-turbo, twin-cab 4x4 Ranger XL’s mechanicals, which means customers still get 150kW/500Nm, a 10-speed automatic transmission with low-range, a part-time 4x4 system, locking rear diff and all of the associated off-road and towing capabilities.

It’s a similar story inside the cabin, where there are no changes the base XL grade’s hard-wearing black interior or cloth upholstery.

“With the Ranger Black Edition, Ford is proud to be able to add extra value to Australia’s favourite vehicle.”

Just 1500 examples of the Black Edition will be imported to Australia, where the Ranger was designed and developed. The first vehicles are already being produced in Thailand ahead of first local deliveries from September.
