The refreshed 2024 Genesis GV80 SUV and the all-new GV80 Coupe spin-off will land in Australian dealers later this month, offering buyers more choice than ever.
The biggest news is the introduction of the new 2024 Genesis GV80 Coupe that benefits from all the mid-life upgrades that have been treated to the regular GV80 large luxury SUV.
Externally, the wagon sports a revised front bumper with new intakes, a smaller grille, quad Matrix LED headlights, new 22-inch wheels and a fresh rear bumper that tucks away the exhaust tips.
Within the luxurious cabin, both the wagon and the new GV80 Coupe feature a striking 27-inch widescreen OLED display that stretches across the dash.
Below it, there’s a redesigned climate-control display and switchgear panel, while the centre console has been restyled to adopt a new gear selector and infotainment controller.
Other changes include a two-tone steering wheel, improved materials, a wireless phone charger, larger cup holders and lots of leather, aluminium and real wood used throughout.
In the rear, new 14.6-inch touch-screens are mounted behind the front seats.
New tech includes advanced driver monitoring, a digital rear-view mirror and an 18-speaker Bang and Olufsen premium sound system.
Other new standard tech includes the car-maker’s latest adaptive cruise control system, uprated autonomous emergency braking (AEB), revised lane keep assist and a remote auto-parking feature.
On the powertrain front, there’s now just one engine available – the mightiest 279kW/530Nm twin-turbocharged 3.5-litre V6 petrol.
The 224kW 2.5-litre turbo-four petrol and the 204kW 3.0-litre inline-six turbo-diesel have been dropped from the line-up.
What’s more, the GV80 Coupe heading to our market misses out on the uprated electrified version of the 3.5-litre twin-turbo V6 offered elsewhere, boosted by a 48V electric supercharger to produce 305kW and 549Nm of torque.
As far as the model range goes, the minimalist theme continues with Genesis now including the Luxury Pack as standard that 95 per cent of Australians previously ordered anyway for the GV80 wagon.
Choose the GV80 wagon and the big Genesis SUV also comes with either seven seats or a more luxurious six-seater layout as a no-cost option.
The GV80 Coupe, meanwhile, comes with just five seats on account of its more rakish rear styling.
Just two options will be available on both cars, a new premium matte paint option and rear seat infotainment.
Speaking of paint, Genesis now offers 11 exterior colours and a further 11 interior trim colour options.
Helping differentiate from the wagon, the sportier GV80 Coupe gets real carbon-fibre cabin trim, a flat-bottomed steering wheel and alloy pedals.
Outside, there’s different 22-inch rims, a revised front bumper, dual exhaust tips and a rear tailgate spoiler.
Full pricing details are expected to be released soon.
