GWM-Haval Australia has restored the Vanta nameplate to its local H6 portfolio, with the blacked-out medium SUV starting from a sharp $36,990 drive-away under the brand’s current plate clearance campaign.
Its actual list price is $40,990 drive-away, however GWM Australia’s latest clearance will be in place for the rest of the year, shaving thousands off the asking prices of most key models.
On-sale or otherwise, the special-edition 2024 GWM-Haval H6 Vanta costs $1000 more than the H6 Ultra it’s based on, the extra cash netting buyers a black front fascia treatment and black 19-inch alloy wheels.
The rest of its standard equipment list reads identically to its donor vehicle’s, headlined by Comfort-Tek leather upholstery, power-adjustable heated and ventilated front seats, a 10.25-inch infotainment interface, wireless charging pad, panoramic sunroof, a powered tailgate, 360-degree camera and automated parking.
Standard safety kit meantime includes autonomous emergency braking with pedestrian and cyclist detection, adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go function, lane keep assist, lane departure warning and traffic sign recognition.
Under the bonnet is the familiar combination of a 2.0-litre turbo-petrol engine (150kW/320Nm) and a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission, the latter exclusively sending drive to the front wheels.
The Vanta’s return sees the local H6 portfolio expand to six variants across two powertrains – petrol and hybrid – but only one drive configuration: front.
