2024 Kia Carnival officially revealed

Hybrid power confirmed for redesigned version of Australia’s favourite people-mover

The facelifted 2024 Kia Carnival has been officially revealed, following the publication of leaked images earlier this week.

As previously seen, the exterior design of Australia’s top-selling people-mover has been brought more closely into line with Kia’s SUV and budding EV line-up, now sporting vertically stacked headlights, an elaborate daytime running light signature and a redesigned grille.

The front bumper has also been revised to suit, matched at the rear-end by a tweaked apron – now with SUV-style cladding – and redesigned tailgate headlined by the relocated (lower) numberplate, ‘star map’ tail-light clusters and the adoption of an integrated handle.

Little has changed down the flanks of the Carnival save for the redesigned alloy wheels present across the range and mild adjustment of the character lines to suit the new front and rear fascia.

A new ‘Gravity’ model grade in South Korea adds a series of exclusive touches including a unique grille, skid plates and wheels, along with a darkened roof rack, C-pillar and exterior trim “to maximise a strong yet luxurious feel”.

The reveal of the facelift also pairs with the anticipated confirmation of a 1.6-litre turbo petrol-electric hybrid powertrain, as seen in the Kia Sorento large SUV and the Sportage mid-size SUV.

Kia is planning to offer the new hybrid alongside the existing petrol and diesel globally, which bodes well for Australia, however previous supply restrictions suggest availability may be limited here.

The 2024 Carnival is expected to arrive Down Under in the first quarter of next year and be available in six colours: Ivory Silver, Snow White Pearl, Astra Blue, Aurora Black Pearl, Pantera Metal and Ceramic Silver.

Local pricing and specification details will be announced closer to launch.
