Mercedes-Benz Australia has locked in a starting price of $202,800 plus on-road costs for its new 2024 Mercedes-AMG C 63 S E Performance F1 Edition, which is now entering showrooms just in time for this weekend’s Australian Formula 1 Grand Prix.
Revealed back in October 2022, the Mercedes-AMG C 63 S E Performance F1 Edition is the most expensive version of the current-generation C-Class to date and the first to eclipse the $200,000 barrier.
That inflated starting price is $14,900 higher than the standard C 63, but customers will be drawn to the series of unique design cues including an exclusive ‘MANUFAKTUR alpine grey uni’ gradient paint finish, matte black and red 20-inch AMG light-alloy wheels, AMG Aerodynamics Package, contrasting red trim strip, red brake callipers and both AMG Night Packages I and II (darkened exterior trim).
The black and red theme continues inside, where occupants will find black Nappa leather upholstery, red stitching, embossing and seat belts, carbon-fibre trim elements (with red fibres) and a Nappa leather/Dinamica microfibre AMG Performance steering wheel.
Other exclusive touches include red illuminated AMG door sills, F1 Edition badging and red-stitched AMG floor mats with F1 logos.
Just 63 examples of the aggressive mid-size super-sedan are being offered here, with deliveries set to start imminently given the first customer cars have already arrived on Aussie soil.
No changes have been made to the formidable 500kW/1020Nm 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbo petrol-electric plug-in hybrid powertrain or the nine-speed automatic transmission responsible for sending drive to all four wheels.
The C 63 S E Performance is capable of a 3.4-second 0-100km/h sprint and a 280km/h v-max, but can still return 6.1L/100km and cover up to 15km on electric power alone.
