2024 Mercedes-Benz GLE 300d Night Edition now on sale

New limited-edition large AWD luxury SUV arrives loaded with extra gear and added value

Mercedes-Benz Australia has added yet another special-edition SUV to its line-up, this time in the form of the 2024 Mercedes-Benz GLE 300d 4MATIC Night Edition.

Essentially a GLE 300d spruced up with some air suspension and extra styling cues, the limited-edition large luxury SUV is priced at $139,900 plus on-road costs, making it $7000 cheaper than the standard version.

The Night Edition makeover starts with a set of black 22-inch AMG light alloy wheels, a series of matching black design elements and the AMG Line exterior treatment, and extends to the standard inclusion of adaptive air suspension, in addition to all the bells and whistles of the standard GLE 300d 4MATIC.

Headline equipment therefore includes the latest-generation MBUX infotainment system, Burmester surround sound system, heated front seats with power-adjustment for the driver, dual-zone climate control, head-up display, panoramic sunroof, 64-colour ambient lighting, black Artico upholstery, multi-beam LED headlights and adaptive cruise control.

Other creature comforts comprise smartphone mirroring, wireless phone charging, keyless entry and start, powered tailgate and dark tinted rear windows.

Under the bonnet is a 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbo-diesel engine that outputs an unchanged 198kW/550Nm remains paired to a nine-speed automatic transmission and full-time all-wheel drive.

Zero-100km/h is dealt with in 6.9 seconds (claimed), while the official combined fuel consumption figure is 6.6L/100km.

Mercedes-Benz Australia has declared the GLE 300d 4MATIC Night Edition will only be available in a “strictly limited” allocation, but hasn’t divulged exactly how many examples will be offered Down Under.

This is the third Mercedes-Benz special-edition announced just this month, following the Mercedes-AMG C 43 4MATIC Edition R sports sedan last week and the Mercedes-Benz GLA 200 City Edition small SUV just yesterday.
