The facelifted 2024 Skoda Octavia has arrived on Australian soil priced from $41,490 drive-away for the entry-level Select sedan.
A wagon version is once again being offered alongside the sedan, albeit with a $2500 price premium (from $43,990), but those hoping to get their hands on a sexier Sportline or hot RS version will have to wait until the first quarter of next year.
While those customers mark their calendars, the Select is here now offering a 10-inch digital instrument cluster, 13-inch infotainment interface, wireless smartphone mirroring, a ventilated 15W wireless phone charging pad, 18-inch alloy wheels, cloth seat upholstery and dash inserts, an eight-speaker sound system, LED exterior lighting and Travel Assist.
Other equipment highlights include an auto-dimming rearview mirror, rain-sensing wipers, keyless start, paddle shifters, a leather appointed steering wheel, voice control and an umbrella and waste bin in the driver’s door.
Headline safety features and driver aids meantime comprise forward and reverse AEB, lane assist, emergency and side assists, exit warning system and rear cross traffic alert.
Power comes from a turbocharged 1.4-litre four-cylinder petrol engine outputting 110kW/250Nm while an eight-speed automatic transmission sends drive to the front wheels, yielding an 8.7-second 0-100km/h time.
Skoda Australia marketing and product boss Kieran Merrigan said the Octavia was one of the brand’s “most recognised and established” models, and that the mid-life update would see the current generation “go from strength to strength”.
All Octavias are and will be covered by a seven-year/unlimited-kilometre warranty.
