2024 Skoda Octavia SportLines inbound

Value-driven newcomers add sporty design cues, suspension and an extra drive mode to popular Euro package

The local Skoda Octavia portfolio will gain two new variants next month, when the SportLine liftback and wagon duo arrive in the lead-up to the global reveal and eventual arrival of the facelifted Octavia later this year.

Priced from $42,490 drive-away in liftback form and $43,990 drive-away as a wagon, the 2024 Skoda Octavia SportLines cost exactly the same as the existing Style variants but don a much sportier persona courtesy of 15 signature touches.

The most obvious of these alterations are the gloss-black grille, mirrors and badging, a rear diffuser, front splitter, matte-black window surrounds, dual exhaust outlets and SportLine badging on the front wings.

Inside the cabin you’ll find a flat-bottom steering wheel, paddle shifters, sport seats, aluminium pedals, black headliner and drive mode selector offering Eco, Normal and Sport, the latter of which enhances the steering and powertrain responses.

The package is rounded out by a 15mm suspension drop, courtesy of firmer springs and dampers, and unique 18-inch alloy wheels.

From there the rest of the standard equipment list reads the same as the Style, with highlights including Matrix LED headlights, adaptive cruise control, dual-zone climate control, a 10.25-inch virtual cockpit and a 10-inch infotainment system offering wireless smartphone mirroring and satellite-navigation.

No changes have been made to the Octavia’s 110kW/250Nm 1.4-litre turbo-petrol engine or the eight-speed automatic transmission it’s paired with beyond the extra drive mode.

Optional extras on the newcomer premium paint ($770-$1170), a panoramic roof for the wagon and a $3200 Premium Pack comprising emergency assist, adaptive lane guidance, DAB+ digital radio, power-adjustable front seats, heated front and outboard rear seats, tri-zone climate control and additional USB-C ports.

The SportLine’s introduction comes just a couple of months after the value-driven Kamiq Run-Out and eponymously named Karoq were made available to Aussies due to a boost in healthy stock levels and new models being on the horizon.
