2024 Skoda Superb teased again

New Skoda Superb fastback and wagon to launch in Europe later this year ahead of Aussie debut

The next-generation 2024 Skoda Superb has been teased again ahead of the large fastback sedan and wagon’s European launch in the third quarter and its introduction in Australia in the first half of next year.

This time, the fourth-gen Skoda Superb appears under wraps surrounded by its ancestors as part of the nameplate’s 90th anniversary.

The new images of both the large sedan and wagon come just a week after the Czech car-maker posted silhouettes of the Superb and the incoming new 2024 Skoda Kodiaq SUV.

Despite lurking under sheets, the new Superb appears to adopt sharper surfacing and more pronounced shoulders, plus slightly more rakish rear styling for both the sedan and wagon.

Set to be bigger than the current model, with a taller SUV-like body, the next Superb remains based on an updated version of the previous car’s MQB architecture.

Both body styles should offer acres of occupant space, coupled with a huge amount of luggage room.

Under the bonnet, the Superb will be offered with conventional petrol and diesel engines as well as plug-in hybrid (PHEV) and mild-hybrid powertrains.

The PHEV version should come with 180kW and 400Nm of torque, plus a pure-electric range of more than 60km.

When the first-generation Superb was introduced in 1934, Skoda says it produced just 600 models for civilian use and another 1600 for the military.

However, since 2001, when the modern reboot of the large family sedan was reintroduced, Skoda has sold more than 1.5 million units.
