Flagship 2025 Skoda Superb Sportline locked in for Australia
Large family sedan and wagon set to land early next year exclusively as a sports modelThe new 2025 Skoda Superb line-up will be spearheaded exclusively by the top-spec Sportline trim when it lands in Australia early next year, with the flagship having just made its debut in Europe.
The Sportline trim was absent from the global portfolio during the new-generation Superb’s global reveal last year, prompting many to speculate the Czech brand might not be directly replacing it.
Its delayed re-emergence however has triggered Skoda Australia to announce the Sportline as the only Superb trim headed for local showrooms in the first half of next year.
As before, the top-flight sedan and wagon will don a sportier persona than its more elegant stablemates courtesy of a sports body kit and plenty of gloss black exterior trim: grille, mirror caps, window surrounds, splitter, air dam surrounds, rear diffuser, rear spoiler (sedan) and roof rails (wagon).
And it’s not just the visuals that are improved – the Sportline rides on lower (-15mm) and stiffer suspension than other Superb variants, allowing it to complement its athletic look with more-dynamic handling.
Aggressive 18-inch wheels round-out the design and chassis upgrades, however 19-inch hoops and adaptive dampers will be available optionally.
The Sportline fittingly nabs the most powerful 195kW/400Nm version of the new Superb’s 2.0-litre turbo-petrol engine which marks an 11kW decrease in peak power compared to the outbound version, however the extra 50Nm of torque will no-doubt offset the missing kilowatts.
Said powerplant drives all four wheels via a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission.
Standard equipment highlights meantime comprise Matrix LED headlights, a unique three-spoke leather steering wheel, plenty of Sportline logos, a black headliner, carbon door and dashboard trim, sport pedals and ambient lighting.
There’s a large 13-inch infotainment system on the dash alongside a 10-inch digital instrument cluster, both of which get special Sportline graphics.
