2024 Subaru WRX Club Spec priced

Better-handling limited-edition WRX to arrive in April alongside Subaru’s upgraded 2024 Rex model range

The limited-edition 2024 Subaru WRX Club Spec will arrive next month, priced from $52,590 plus on-road costs.

As expected, the 150-unit run of the new Club Spec Rex is the Australian equivalent to the North American WRX TR shown last year.

It comes fitted with Recaro front seats, matte grey 19-inch wheels shod with Bridgestone Potenza S007 tyres, an STI rear wing, Brembo braking package and bespoke tuning for the steering and suspension.

A smattering of ‘Club Spec’ logos on the body and throughout the interior also advertise the model’s exclusivity.

The upgrades should make the Club Spec the most dynamically capable version of the current-generation Subaru WRX so far, though no changes have been made to the 202kW/350Nm 2.4-litre four-cylinder turbo-petrol engine or standard-fit six-speed manual transmission.

The rest of the limited-edition’s specification list largely reads the same as the base WRX sedan (from $47,490).

Shared equipment highlights include a portrait 11.6-inch infotainment system, wireless smartphone mirroring, a six-speaker sound system, voice recognition, keyless entry/start, dual-zone climate control and DAB+ digital radio.

“The Club Spec name is one familiar to WRX enthusiasts with the first Club Spec offered in the late 1990s and it being a well-sought-after special offering since then,” said Subaru Australia managing director Blair Read.

“The Club Spec offers the core ingredients for a WRX special-edition of 19-inch wheels, Brembo brakes, Recaro seats, and STI-style rear spoiler. Limited to only 150 units this is sure to be a very special limited edition.”

Arriving in tandem with the Club Spec is a broader update for the 2024 Subaru WRX range, where the big news is the addition of Subaru EyeSight for the manual versions.

This brings key active safety and convenience tech including adaptive cruise control, emergency lane keep assist, lane centring function, lane departure prevention, lane departure warning, lane sway warning, lead vehicle start alert, pre-collision braking system, pre-collision brake assist, autonomous emergency steering, brake light recognition and speed sign recognition.

There have been a few other variant-specific alterations too, mostly revolving around the Sportswagon models: a 10-speaker Harman Kardon sound system (all wagons), wireless smartphone mirroring (all variants), Ceramic White paint replacing Crystal White Pearl (all wagons) and a new Asteroid Grey Pearl exterior colour added to the mix (wagons only).

The upgrades have brought price increases for certain variants, specifically $1500 for the manual sedans and $800 for the Sportswagons. See the full price list below.
