The 2024 Tesla Model 3 Ludicrous has been uncovered on social media, showing that the US car-maker could be working on a mid-size super-sedan to rival established combustion-engined powerhouses like the BMW M3 and Mercedes-AMG C 63 S.
Unearthed by X (formerly Twitter) account user @klwtts in a leaked parts catalogue for the facelifted ‘Project Highland’ Tesla Model 3, the unverified documents suggest the new fast flagship will come with dedicated sports suspension, bigger brakes and 19-inch ‘Helix’ alloy rims that have been developed for performance driving.
There’s no word on how much power the Tesla Model 3 Ludicrous will pump out, but Tesla CEO Elon Musk has previously ruled out a full-fat Plaid version of the all-electric sedan.

As a result, the new Ludicrous will likely skip the wild 760kW triple-motor powertrain found in the flagship Tesla Model S Plaid, instead offering a more powerful take on the Model 3 Performance’s circa-400kW dual-motor powertrain.
If not a standalone high-series model, the Model 3 Ludicrous could potentially be a replacement for the Model 3 Performance in the facelifted line-up.
Up until now, the ‘Ludicrous’ name has been reserved for the full-power driving mode used by pre-2021 Tesla Model S and Model X EVs, but now it seems the US car-maker might look to employ it as a new performance sub-brand to sit below the Plaid.
To win an advantage over the BMW M3 and Mercedes-AMG C 63, Tesla might also look to set a new small sedan production lap record of the Nurburgring to demonstrate its performance advantage over the old guard.
