The facelifted 2024 Volkswagen T-Cross will arrive in Australia this September offering new interior and exterior designs, more technology and a new full-time R-Line flagship.
Pricing and finer specification details of the upgraded small SUV will be announced closer to its local release, but for now Volkswagen Australia has started drip-feeding some of the headline features.
The new Volkswagen T-Cross range will comprise the entry-level Life, mid-range Style and top-shelf R-Line grades, all of which will feature a revitalised cabin headlined by redesigned dashboard with soft-touch plastics and other higher-quality materials, a new free-standing infotainment screen, leatherette trim inserts and a digital instrument cluster.
Headline gear on the base Life will include adaptive cruise control with Travel Assist, automatic LED headlights, 16-inch alloy wheels, an 8.0-inch infotainment interface, DAB+ digital radio, wireless smartphone charging, leather multi-function steering wheel with shift paddles, reversing camera, surround lighting with light projection and power-folding door mirrors.
The Style adds Matric LED headlights, an illuminated grille strip, wireless App-Connect, voice control, 17-inch alloys, ambient lighting, keyless access, dual-zone climate control and chromed roof rails.
Atop the T-Cross hierarchy will be the R-Line, which will bring a unique body kit, 18-inch alloy wheels, sportier interior, multiple drive modes, dark-tinted side and rear window glass and a Beats premium audio system.
The new T-Cross flagship replaces the current options packs available for the Style and serves to streamline the purchasing process via distinctly-specced variants instead of multiple options packs.
All updated T-Cross variants will be powered by Volkswagen’s familiar and widely-used 1.0-litre turbo-petrol three-cylinder engine outputting 85kW/200Nm, with transmission duties still being taken care of by the established seven-speed dual-clutch auto.
Life and Style prices are almost guaranteed to increase as part of the upgrade, however, carsales understands the increases might not be as much as recent history would expect us to believe.
The current Volkswagen T-Cross Life and Style range is priced at $30,990 and $33,490 plus on-road costs respectively.
